STORY TIME ⏳

The Day Sage Met The Fairy

SAGE:

"One day, I went on a store run for dad, which was a daily task. I overheard a lady singing, and the song was amazing. It turned out to be an old woman sitting in front of the flower shop. This is where I'll stop and pull an excerpt from the written story of...Sage & The Fairy."

One day, Sage was on his way to get his Pops favorite drink when he passed an old lady sitting in front of the flower shop singing. The lady stopped him in his tracks.

"Hey young man, do you have a little money to spare, so that I can get something to eat from over there?" she asked, pointing at the corner store.

"Sure Mam," said Sage, handing her a ten-dollar bill. "What did you want to eat from the store?" he asked.

"Well, a rice dinner would do me just fine," she said with a smile. She handed him the ten- dollar bill to pay for her meal.

"No Mam, that's for you, I'll pay for your food," said Sage, and went on his merry way.    He went into the store grabbed the drink and paid for the meal, then returned to the old lady. She was elated.

"You're such a gentleman, and you've shown me much kindness," she said. The old lady transformed into a stylish fairy wearing gold and diamond jewelry.

"I will bless your tongue with a gifted speech, every time you speak out will come diamonds and gold rings," said the fashionable fairy.

FAIRY:

"And that's how we met. I remember when--"

SAGE:

"Okay, Fairy, let's continue with the story.

At the ripe age of thirteen, I received the gift. A powerful gift that I was chosen to have and protect, yet jealousy, anger, and greed forced me to leave. I wasn't ready, too young. I felt afraid but I remember what the fairy told me that day. It's about what I say. So, I left my childhood home.

Dad was mean, stubborn, and heartbroken. I felt some of that pain when dad would talk down on me. He didn't really fuss at my brother. He decided to push me around instead. I knew he grieved mother, but he was also mean to her. His bad words outweighed his good.

My brother taunted me, but I held my own.

These guys were always complaining and blaming everyone but themselves.

Now, I'll conclude my  genetically inherent "rant" tendency with this...

Five years later I returned. After facing the disconnect, the conflict. I've grown and the pain is in the past, plus, I miss my brother and my dad.

What do you think? Should I move back?"

Should Sage help his father and brother in spite of how they treated him?
